Reps Training Day
All workplace reps and aspiring reps working in Peterborough are welcome to our training day. We have a jam-packed schedule – come along to as many of the sessions as you can, you’ll be made very welcome:
9:00 – 9:15 Introductions over a cuppa
9:15 – 10:00 Rights of the Rep
10:00 – 10:45 Collectivising around health & safety, mental health and pupil behaviour with Guest Speaker: Scott Lyons, NEU Norfolk (NEBOSH Gen. Cert and Mental Heath First Aid Trainer)
10:45 – 11:00 Break
11:00 – 11:45 Can My Headteacher…? A quick overview of employment law, Burgundy Book, Green Book and STPCD
11:45 – 12:30 Collective grievances and collective action with Guest Speaker: Helen Brook, NEU Cambridgeshire
12:30 – 1:00 Lunch – jacket potatoes with all the trimmings, plus dessert
1:00 – 1:45 Casework training – supporting members in sickness absence meetings
1:45 – 2:30 Case studies – talking through scenarios you may experience as a Rep
2:30 – 2:45 Break
2:45 – 3:30 Rep recruitment, support, evaluating and planning
